Berserker is a character class in a number of role-playing games and role-playing video games, including Final Fantasy. Most of the time, a Berserker is a physically strong and agile warrior without great intelligence or specials skills besides their high offensive power in battle. Saix, a character from the Kingdom Hearts series, is based on this class.

In the Final Fantasy series the Berserker Class debuted in Final Fantasy V as a Job Class after acquiring the pieces of the Water Crystal. After achieving LVL 1 in the job, characters are able to equip the traditional Berserker ability Berserk, allowing increased physical attack, but denying the ability to use any other ability than Attack. At LVL 2 they gain the ability to allow other classes to equip axes. Berserkers do have MP, and a means of using them: Runic weapons use them For Massive Damage.
The Berserker Class did not appear in the series again until Final Fantasy X-2, where the player could acquire the Berserker Dressphere after defending O'aka's shop from fiends in Chapter 3. The dressphere allowed the player to gain abilities such as Cripple and Mad Rush, taking full advantage of the Berserkers immense strength. As well as these, the berserk command was again available to allow more damage for less control.
There is also a status effect named Berserk throughout the series which allows those affected to gain a great amount of physical attack power while losing the ability to do anything but attack an enemy.
In the Fire Emblem series, Berserkers are the heavy hitting units of the game. Wielding huge axes, and having the ability to cross water squares, Berserkers are unique units to have in one's army. Berserkers also have an innate critical hit chance bonus of 15% or 30%, varying upon the game. To obtain a Berserker, the player must either to train a Pirate or Brigand to level 10 (or above) and promote him with an Ocean Seal or Hero's Crest (respectively), or recruit one of the pre-promoted characters such as Hawkeye from Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken or Dozla from Fire Emblem: Seima no Kouseki.
The only time this formula differs is in Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo, where Berserkers are enemy-only sword wielding units in Book 2 that resemble heroes.
The Beserkers in Gears of War are a highly dangerous rank of Locust Horde. They are enormous and can even beat back their team mates. It's only weakness is the Hammer of Dawn, which will scorch it until it dies,and look out if it charges at you.
The Slayer's subclass in the MMORPG Dungeon Fighter Online. At level 18, the player gets a choice to become a Berserker. The Berserker uses the uncontrollable power of his denomic arm to fight. One of the Berserker's famous skills is called Frenzy which gradually increases its stats. At level 48, the Berserker gains a skill called Extreme Overkill which drains energy from every slash a Berserker hits and when the gauge is fully charged, an explosion happens which deals a heavy amount of damage.
One of the two classes of Troll in the strategy game Warcraft 2 is the berserker. This berserker is hardier than the normal troll. It can deal slightly more damage, and endure slightly more than the regular class.
The Berserker class is one of intense offensive power. Though it is an Upgrade class, its sheer power makes it all worthwhile. Berserkers can usually solo an enemy in much less time than any other class can, what with it having enormously powerful skills and all. Unsurprisingly, the Berserker class is deemed one of the best damage-burst classes available.
